This is an American Flyer 973 Gilberts Operating Milk Car from 1956-57. When activated, the figure inside the car pops out the door and deposits the milk cans on the platform. Features include sliding doors, die-cast metal trucks, operating plastic knuckle couplers, plastic wheels and metal axles.
This item has been previously reconditioned by a former Gilbert American Flyer technician. It was also repainted by a previous owner. There is a small dent in the roof, but no cracks or broken parts. It is missing the platform, controller and contact rail. Our repair shop replaced the four milk cans, which are included. See inspection card for full details. The mechanism still works. Overall condition is Very Good.
