Position:   Repair Technician
Type:         Full Time, Permanent


Position Summary

We are seeking a bright, motivated “natural mechanically-inclined” individual for a full-time, permanent position as a model train repair technician working out of our Buford office. If you haven’t been fixing stuff pretty much all your life, no need to apply. The successful candidate will efficiently troubleshoot and repair model railroad and related hobby products. This person will be able to keep their workstation neat and organized and will be able to efficiently diagnose and perform effective repairs. We provide a nice climate controlled service area with your own bench, all the specialized tools, great support from our experienced team, and thousands of organized parts to enable you to be successful in performing work efficiently.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Requirements

Viable candidates for this position *must*:

  • Have at least 2 years of demonstratable experience in repairing electro-mechanical devices and electronic devices.
  • Have good foundational skills with hand tools, soldering, using adhesives, drilling, taping, etc.
  • Be a quick learner to transfer existing repair & troubleshooting skills to model trains
  • Be able to discern what is worth repairing based on the items value and extent of damage
  • Be focused on quality work to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize comebacks
  • Detest working in an unorganized, messy, and untidy work area
  • Be efficient and well organized
  • Be able to quickly assimilate your knowledge and be excited about learning new things and repair techniques
  •  Be assertive and mature, with good people/communication skills
  • Have an easy, innate aptitude with computers, systems and numbers.
  • Have a laser-focused attention to detail, and the ability to learn complex processes and systems.
  • Have a questioning, analytical personality that is always looking for a better way to do things
  • Be able to pass our electro-mechanical knowledge assessment

The primarily responsibilities will be:

  • Perform effective, efficient, and quality repairs on all types of Model Train Equipment
  • Meet department productivity and quality standards
  • Maintain good customer rapport with customers both over the phone and occasionally in-person.
  • To maintain a safe, clean, clutter free, and organized work environment.
  • Preform other repair and facility maintenance projects as needed.


    Position:   Parts Inventory Specialist
    Type:         Full Time, Permanent


    Position Summary

    We are seeking a bright, motivated organized and detail-oriented individual for a full-time, permanent position as a parts inventory specialist working out of our Buford office. The successful candidate will sort, count, identify, photograph, update inventory, and put away small model train parts and associated items. This person will be able to keep their work area neat and organized and will be able to efficiently sort out similar parts and meet productivity goals and quality standards. We provide a nice climate-controlled work area and support from our experienced team.

    Compensation will be $10-$14/hr. based on your skills and experience

    Requirements

    Viable candidates for this position *must*:

    • Be detail oriented and have demonstrated organizational skills
    • Be able to determine variations of similar parts without knowing what the part is.
    • Be focused on getting it done precisely right the first time and not “close enough”
    • Be able to maintain a good attitude while working alone or with others.
    • Demonstrate personal responsibility with good people/communication skills
    • Have an easy, innate aptitude with computers, systems and numbers.
    • Have a laser-focused attention to detail, and the ability to learn complex processes and systems.
    • Have a questioning, analytical personality that is always looking for a better way to do things
    • Be able to pass our identification and organization knowledge assessment

    The primarily responsibilities will be:

    • Sorting, counting, identifying, photographing, updating inventory, and putting away small model train parts and associated items
    • Identifying parts by looking up keywords in our database tabbing through pictures or researching in service manuals or online parts diagrams.
    • Pulling inventory for shipping
    • Performing regular cycle counts
    • Ensuring our parts room is a showcase and kept neat, tidy, clean, organized, and clutter-free
    • To work with and maintain good customer rapport with our repair technicians, customer service reps, and our shipping department personnel
