3rd Rail became a division of Sunset Models in 1994 when they began making O Scale models fitted for 3-rail track operation, branding them with the name "3rd Rail".
Sunset Models was founded by Mort Mann in 1975. They were one of the first importers of true scale brass models. They were the first to teach Korean builders how to fabricate brass models with incredible detail. With this, they built a 15 year relationship with Samhonga of Korea. Sunset Models produce fine scale brass models in N, HO, HOn3, O, On3, S, G, and #1.
For over 48 years, Sunset Models and 3rd Rail have been producing the finest brass scale models and engines with incredible detail. These attentive brass engines are sublime for any collector of 3 Rail O Scale.
