This is an American Flyer 322 Vintage S NYC 4-6-4 Hudson Steam Locomotive & Tender. The locomotive features die-cast metal construction, a motor, a reverse unit, an operating headlight, metal side rods, metal wheels and exquisite detail. The tender features die-cast metal construction, a link coupler, smoke unit, die-cast metal trucks, metal/plastic wheels and metal axles.
Known as the Baltic in Europe and the Hudson in North America, the 4-6-4 was introduced in the early 20th century finding success in hauling freight and as a shunting model. Their use would initially find great success on North American railways before eventually becoming mainstays in rail-yards around the world!
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-5: Good based on visual appearance. The construction of the trailing truck has warped. There are light nicks, scratches and spots of paint loss throughout this model. A few of the hand rails are bent or show light tarnish. The counterweights have yellowed a bit. There is heavier wear and spots of tarnish on the wheels from previous use. The tender's coupler is bent slightly and has solder on the bottom. This item has been inspected by our repair shop. Please see the attached picture for inspection details and additional operation information. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is not included. Please check the photos for a detailed look at this item. Overall condition is Good.
