Throttle Up! Corp. was founded in 1989, the parent company of SoundTraxx. Then in 1990 SoundTraxx began designing and manufacturing the latest in state-of-the-art sound systems for discerning model railroaders. Its first product was a powerful little lighting system called the Hyperlight. SoundTraxx continued to introduce and manufacture state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, and by 1998, the company was more identified as SoundTraxx so Throttle Up! took a back seat and it began marketing under the SoundTraxx name. In 2004, Blackstone Models was introduced as a new division of the company, and was envisioned to further diversify the company product line. Nothing could stop SoundTraxx in becoming a force to be reckoned with in the model railroader industry, and in 2015, the company celebrated its 25th year in the business. To commemorate this event, the company launched an entirely new line of decoders, the Econami.
SoundTraxx continues to explore new dimensions in digital sound technology, and Trainz proudly carries the line of SoundTraxx products.
