Established in 1965, Vallejo is a leading company specializing in the manufacturing of water-based acrylic paints. The company originally started with water-based acrylic colors for animated films called "Film Color". In 1972 they developed the first acrylic color for fine arts. In 1981 Vallejo presented a package of high quality acrylic colors for fine arts in large packaging. This was dubbed "Acrylic Studio". In 1986 Vallejo formulated the first acrylic colors for airbrushing. Since, the company has produced a wide range of colors for hobby and model painters.
