Weaver

Quality Craft/Weaver was founded in 1965 by Bob Weaver and his wife Shirley. Starting with N to O scale Craftsman Kits of buildings and rolling stock, they moved on to become a major supplier of ready-to-run plastic and brass O gauge 2-rail and 3-rail scale model trains. The early kits were loved by many and on par or better than other brass importers. Over the years they ventured into the plastic market. Later, Scalecoat model railroad paint, which was the same paint used in house, was also sold. In 1993, Joe Hayter, president of the company, officially took over. Under his direction, the company improved and evolved it's product line. After 50 years, in 2015, Joy Hayter announced his retirement and the closing of the business.

Weaver put all it's efforts into creating products that no other supplier provided. Their focus was only on locomotives, rolling stock and parts. They even had MTH contracted to produce the Weaver diecast Bettendorf trucks and wheel sets.
