Why Buy From Trainz?

This is a Corgi ST97704 1:120 Charles Dickens, Britannia Class 70033 BR Early – Green. 55 British Rail Standard Class 7 locomotives (otherwise known as Britannia locomotives) were constructed at the BR Crewe Works between 1951 and 1954. They were designed by Robert Riddles and were intended to perform mixed traffic duties, with each one being named after a Scottish Firth, former Star Class locomotive or great Briton. No. 70033 was the 34th of these locomotives to be built, entering service in December 1952 and being named after the iconic author Charles Dickens, in homage to his great books such as A Christmas Carol, Great Expectations, Oliver Twist, David Copperfield and others. The train stayed in service until 1967 when it was withdrawn and sadly sold for scrap just under a year later. This 1:120 scale model from Corgi faithfully recreates the Charles Dickens in all of its former glory, complete with the BR1 type tender in BR Green that features an early BR emblem. It is highly detailed. Comes mounted on a plastic display plinth. 18cm long
