This very scarce car, based on the prewar 2954, contains the same operating mechanism found in the more common 3454 Merchandise car. The 3854 is one of the few scale-sized cars made by Lionel in the Postwar Era. The length of the 3854 required it to have a special truck with two slide shoes on each truck so that the car could work on regular RCS\/UCS operating sections.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good.
