The cars became widespread on coal hauling railroads throughout the country, seeing service behind steam and diesel locomotives. In the tradition of the Lionel PS-1 boxcars, the scale-sized, metal Lionel Offset Hoppers include many separately applied details and, for a more prototypical look, ride on accurately detailed trucks without a hanging trigger disc.
