The Lionel I-12 caboose is based on the distinctive \"wagon-tops” produced by the Baltimore \u0026amp; Ohio Railroad. In 1941, B\u0026amp;O shops built 100 I-12’s, and added twenty-five more to their line by 1945. Serving for four decades, they bridged the steam and diesel eras. In Chessie System paint, they ran into the 1980s.
