This highly detailed passenger car is precisely 1:48 scale and was made of brass in Korea under the design and supervision of Fine Art Models in the U.S., who normally specialize in larger scale, very high end, scale railroad models. This car features superior craftsmanship, super scale detailing, an illuminated 20-bulb interior, a furnished interior, die-cast trucks with scale couplers. The couplers that are mounted are scale couplers for static display. Kadee couplers are included to make it operational if desired. This car is one of 26 different cars produced under the Lionel\/Smithsonian offering in 1993. The cars only produced 500 of each car and they sold for $500 each.
