This caboose has a bit of an interesting history. Originally, Lionel made the 1976 Northern Pacific Service Station Special set with a 9177 NP Caboose in prototypical green and yellow markings. However, many collectors complained that it did not match the 8666 GP-9 Locomotive, so Lionel made the 9268 the following year as an add-on to the set to match the engine. This car was never in the regular Lionel catalog and is somewhat hard to find. This caboose features interior illumination, diecast metal trucks, diecast metal operating knuckle couplers, metal wheels and axles.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. The caboose has smudges and scuff marks throughout various sections of the roof and side panels. The trunks have nicks and sections of paint loss. The knuckle couplers show nicks and heavy oxidation.
