The locomotive has raised \"MÄrklin\" lettering, a raised road number, and a raised item number on the engineer's cab. Like the old prototype, the wheels and valve gear are bright nickel plated. The locomotive has a coupler hook on the front; the tender has a Relex coupler on the rear.
