Here is an HOn3 Denver and Rio Grande Western 2-8-2 steam locomotive that features detailed brass construction, a powerful motor, metal alloy wheels and side rods, and external details like sand lines, decorative bell and handrails. Please check the photos for a detailed look at this item.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. Introduced at the turn of the 20th century, the 2-8-2 was an innovator breaking from the traditional manufacturing of locomotives, and featuring a larger firebox paving the way for greater speeds at a higher rate of power! Before we knew it, the 2-8-2 also known as the "Mikado" found itself in rail yards around the world from the United States to the Congo hauling freight from stop to stop. The Mikado would undergo a temporary name change after the Pearl Harbor bombing in 1941 shortly going by the McArthur, before eventually going back to the Mikado name after WW2. This item displays light scratches and signs of usage across the body and underframe, and appears to have been painted by previous owner. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The box displays light scratches and spots of discoloration across each surface. The edges and corners are worn, and have small tears and scuffs in several places. The original box is included. The instruction manual is not included.
