The locomotive features die-cast metal construction, a motor, a reverse unit, an operating headlight, an operating smoke unit, metal wheels, and realistic detail. The tender features plastic construction, die-cast metal trucks, an operating knuckle coupler, and metal/plastic wheels and metal axles.
Introduced in its prototype form in the late 19th century, the 4-6-2 would take the world by storm at the turn of the 20th century, being seen as one of the biggest innovation in the history of locomotives -- the 4-6-2 would quickly finds its place in rail-yards across the world. Heralded for its ability to haul passengers, the 4-6-2 was a versatile model hauling freight and coal as well, with tank variants being introduced later during the 20th century. Traveling at speeds upwards of 100mph the 4-6-2was featured on rail-ways ranging from Argentina to Egypt, and all the way to the far East in China!
