Here is a Lionel 773 Vintage O 4-6-4 Hudson Steam Locomotive - 1964 Version from the Postwar Era. This is the later, 1964 version. This engine was based on the legendary 700E Scale Hudson and is a less detailed version intended for use on regular Lionel O-31 track. It features a smoke unit (not present on the 700E), Magnetraction, and a whistle in the tender. It only ran for two years (1950 and 1964), but it was clearly the top of the line locomotive in Lionel's steam roster. Here is a great chance to own one of the great engines of the Postwar Era.
Known as the Baltic in Europe and the Hudson in North America, the 4-6-4 was introduced in the early 20th century finding success in hauling freight and as a shunting model. Their use would initially find great success on North American railways before eventually becoming mainstays in rail-yards around the world!
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. This item displays light scratches and paint imperfections across the body and underframe. The wheels and rolling pickups show signs of average use. The original box is not included. The instruction manual is not included. This item has been inspected by our repair shop. Please see the attached picture for inspection details and additional operation information. Overall condition is Excellent.
