This is a Bachmann 52803 HO Scale Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe USRA 4-6-2 Light Pacific Steam Locomotive & Tender #1385 with Sound. The advent of heavier, longer passenger trains in the early 20th century called for a new type of steam locomotive. The 4-6-2 (or Pacific class as it came to be known) answered that call in 1901. It went on to become the predominant express passenger engine for over 40 years. Heralded for its ability to haul passengers, the 4-6-2 was a versatile model, hauling freight and coal as well, with tank variants being introduced later during the 20th century. Traveling at speeds upwards of 100mph, the 4-6-2was featured on rail-ways ranging from Argentina to Egypt, and all the way to the far East in China!
