Here is a MTH 10-4027 No. 85 Race Car Set. This is a reproduction of the Lionel # 85 Race Car Set released way back in 1912! It was the forerunner of the slot car era of the 1960s. Two tinplate constructed cars, featuring rubber tires and cast driver and passenger rode atop a tinplate track section in the shape of a two lane oval. Powered by a standard AC transformer, the cars would zip around the track with pickups sparking the motors whining. The set features: 2 Race Cars, 4 straight track sections, 7 inside curve sections, 7 outside curve sections, 1 power inside curve section and 1 power outside curve section, start/finish line. Inner Loop Measures: 36 1/4 inches x 50 inches Outer Loop Measures: 43 1/2 inches x 57 3/4 inches.
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. There are light nicks and scratches on the surface of the shell and chassis. This item has been out on display previously and its overall appearance could be significantly improved with a thorough dusting or a light wipe down. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is included. Please check the photos for a detailed look at these items. Overall condition is Excellent.
