Life Like, acquired by Walthers in 2005, presented the Proto 2000 series in 1989. A new generation of HO plastic locos with the finest level of detail and performance were introduced. They now offer assembled and kit versions N and HO models of many popular diesels and freight cars. In 1999 the Heritage Steam Collection was released as the interest in steam power grew.
