Williams Trains

Williams Electric Trains was an American toy train and model railroad manufacturer founded in 1971 by Jerry Williams. Williams acquired some of the original tooling from the Lionel corporation after it sold the Lionel name to General Mills in 1969.

Williams started producing reproductions of vintage Lionel and Ives Standard gauge trains, later acquiring tooling that had once belonged to Kusan and shifting to O Scale.

Williams eventually discontinued its tinplate offerings, selling the old Lionel tooling to the company that later became MTH Electric Trains. In 2007, Williams Electric Trains was purchased by Bachmann Industries and was branded Williams by Bachmann.

Jerry Williams was inducted into the Hobby Manufacturers Association hall of fame in 2016. Mike Wolf and Andy Edleman of MTH, Ken Silvestri of Broadway Limited Imports, and Larry Harrington of Bachmann Industries can claim the honor of having worked with Jerry at Williams Electric Trains.
