Lionel Legacy Legacy Railsounds RS 5.5 & RS 6.0

 

Lionel Trainmaster Command Control & Legacy Electronics.

Earlier Lionel Legacy locomotives were equipped with Railsounds 5.5 sound boards, part of the Legacy Railsounds system. These Railsounds 5.5 boards were built using Railsounds 5.0 circuit boards, but featured upgraded PIC and ROM chips, significantly larger than the earlier Railsounds 5.0 chip sets. As Lionel Legacy technology evolved, the company introduced the Railsounds 6.0 sound system, a complete redesign that no longer used removable chips, offering improved reliability and enhanced sound performance for Legacy locomotives. Both Railsounds 5.5 and 6.0 boards utilize the Lionel 691RSPRA00 Railsounds Power Board, ensuring consistent power delivery and compatibility across steam and diesel Legacy locomotives.
