Lionel Trainmaster Command Control & Legacy Electronics.

Lionel Modular Legacy electronics all rely on dedicated motherboards to function. These Legacy motherboards provide the 24-pin socket required for R4LC receivers, as well as for Railsounds 5.5 and 6.0 audio and power boards.

In most Legacy diesel locomotives, a single motherboard typically accommodates all three components: the R4LC receiver, Railsounds audio board, and Railsounds power board. In contrast, Legacy steam locomotives generally use two separate motherboards: one located in the locomotive for the R4LC receiver, and another in the tender to support the Railsounds audio and power boards.

Using the correct Lionel Legacy motherboard setup ensures proper functionality of R4LC receivers, Railsounds audio, and power boards, providing reliable performance for both steam and diesel modular Legacy locomotives.
