This is a Sunset Models 3751 Santa Fe 4-8-4 Steam Locomotive and Tender. This powered steam locomotive features a powerful motor, all brass construction, fully detailed cab and backhead, working lights, smoke unit, die-cast sprung drivers and trucks. The tender features die-cast metal trucks, die-cast metal operating knuckle coupler on rear, metal wheels and axles.
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. First introduced in the early 20th century, the 4-8-4 to rail yards by storm primarily hauling coal and other forms of freight across state lines in the US and rail-ways in various other countries. While later models would improve on the 4-8-4's limitation, this locomotive still made its place in history as a pioneer of 20th century rail-road industry, and is featured in some museums today as a testament to how far the industry has truly come! This item displays light scratches and paint imperfections across the body and underframe. Light scuffs are present on the edges of the cab awnings. Several handrails and grab irons are slightly bent out of shape, with the cab grab irons having spots of paint loss. The wheels show average run-time. The original box is not included.
