This is an American Model Builders 884 HO Missouri Pacific Drover's Car with LCL Side Door Wood Caboose Kit Laser-Cut Wood. Accurate laser-cut wood constructed caboose body kits ready for detailing. Trucks, couplers, ladders and decals not included. To further enhance these kits, Detail Associates produces an AMB Caboose Detail Kit (#229-550, sold separately) with ladders and pre-bent wire grab irons. In 1930, the Missouri Pacific ordered 20 drover cabooses, series 1100-1119 from St. Louis Car Company (order number 1534). Besides their normal freight train duties, these cars had seating and sleeping space for men accompanying cattle shipped on the MP. Measuring 42 feet over the coupler pulling faces, the cars were longer than standard MP cabooses. As the need for drover cabooses declined, several were modified during WWII for less-than-carload (LCL) service, and hauled small shipments and express on branch and secondary lines. All were off the roster by 1965. This kit is based on converted car #1112. Photo shows assembled and painted model - assembly required.
