This is a Lionel 6-18005 O Gauge NYC 4-6-4 700E Hudson Steam & Tender w/Display Case #5340 from 1990. The locomotive features railsounds, die-cast metal construction, an operating headlight, operating smoke from the stack and steamchest, a button for bell sound activation, a powerful pullmor motor, spoked drivers with wheel rims, metal handrails, an opening boiler front, metal wheels, remote controlled forward, neutral and reverse operation. The tender features die-cast metal construction, die-cast 6-wheel trucks, separate grab rails and handrails, a detailed coal load and a retrofit standard Lionel coupler.
Known as the Baltic in Europe and the Hudson in North America, the 4-6-4 was introduced in the early 20th century finding success in hauling freight and as a shunting model. Their use would initially find great success on North American railways before eventually becoming mainstays in rail-yards around the world!
