Here is a Lionel 6-18602 O Gauge Pennsylvania 4-4-2 Steam Locomotive and Tender #8602 from 1987. It has a Type II AC motor with traction tire and 3-position electronic reverse. The Locomotive features diecast construction, metal wheels and axles and a motor. The tender features plastic construction, one knuckle coupler and metal wheels and axles.
Originally introduced in 1880 in the UK, the "Atlantic" or 4-4-2 would rise to prominence around the world in little to no time after its introduction. Respected and beloved around the world from the United States to Mozambique, the 4-4-2 found itself commissioned in various rail-yards across several continents. In the United States the 4-4-2 would sometimes be called the "Milwaukee" due to it running on the Milwaukee rail-road, but most would find that the "Atlantic" just rolled off the tongue a little bit better. In its construction the 4-4-2 saw an advantage over other locomotives thanks to its trailing wheels allowing for a deeper firebox in the driving wheels. Most of the Atlantic models would see their time in the spotlight come to an end, and would eventually go out of commission in the mid-20th century. Today handfuls exist in preservation status in various rail-road museums.
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. The front rail guard piece has completely broken off and is missing, there is glue visible from where the previous owner might have attempted to repair it. The bell trim piece has broken off and is missing. There is some tarnishing on the metal piece beneath the unit. Some of the paint is chipping. There are light rub marks and scratches on the surface of the shell and chassis. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The previous owner has placed stickers on this item's packaging. The instruction manual is included. The original box is included. Please check the photos for a detailed look at this item.
