Robert West

Robert West, from Great Falls, Montana, developed a love for trains early, inspired by travels with his Air Force father and his grandfather, a Pullman Porter. A self-taught artist, he has been painting North American trains and railroading scenes for over 27 years.

In 1989, GE Transportation Systems commissioned him to paint large-format portraits of their diesel locomotives. Known as "The Champion Painter of Trains," his work is displayed in railroad corporations and museums, and he continues to give lectures and attend railroading events nationwide.
