Here is an Akane HO Scale Brass 0-6-0 Steam Locomotive & Tender. The locomotive and tender feature brass construction, brass trucks, knuckle couplers, and metal wheels. The locomotive is powered. The tender included is not the original tender.
Introduced at the turn of the 20th century, the 2-8-2 was an innovator breaking from the traditional manufacturing of locomotives, and featuring a larger firebox paving the way for greater speeds at a higher rate of power! Before we knew it, the 2-8-2 also known as the "Mikado" found itself in rail yards around the world from the United States to the Congo hauling freight from stop to stop. The Mikado would undergo a temporary name change after the Pearl Harbor bombing in 1941 shortly going by the McArthur, before eventually going back to the Mikado name after WW2.
Per our grading of this item, it is equivalent to the TCA rating of R-3: Good -- A restored piece that has signs of play wear with minor dents and scratches. The tender included is not the original. This item has been custom painted by the previous owner. There are imperfections in the paint. There is discoloration on the chassis of the items. There are scratches and various spots of paint loss on the locomotive and chassis. The previous owner etched writing in the chassis of the items. The wheels show average run-time. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The original box is not included. The instruction manual is not included.
