The model is a GP60 with North American or Safety cab. In 1991, Santa Fe acquired 23 cabless GP60Bs to go with the GP60Ms. Both locomotives were assigned to Santa Fe s hottest intermodal trains in groups of three and four units. They also were regularly mixed with Santa Fe road power on all types of trains. The BNSF merger in 1996 greatly increased the variety of assignments and motive power combinations. Today, the GP60Ms and GP60Bs are primarily assigned road switcher service on the former Santa Fe Coast Division lines west of Belen, New Mexico. In DC mode there is no issue, however the locomotive will not operate in DCC mode (when an aftermarket DCC decoder is installed).What To Do: If only DC operation is desired, no change is required. Should you choose to install a DCC Decoder, please follow the instructions below. Corrective Action:After removing the body of the locomotive, BEFORE installing the DCC Decoder, use a small flat blade screwdriver to bend the end of the lower motor clip away from the chassis to prevent contact.
