This is a Bachmann 81904 HO Ely Thomas Lumber Co. Steam 80-Ton Three-Truck Shay #2. Superbly detailed, the models will feature either a steel or wood cab to match the prototype, which comes with interior details. A variety of separate details, including sanding lines, bell, whistle, pop valves, cut levers and hand rails are installed on every model. In addition, the cab, stack and domes are applied separately to simplify customizing. The models are powered by a can motor that runs a state-of-the-art, precision balanced flywheel drive. All of the drivetrain is hidden for added realism, but the piston rods and valve gear on the side of the loco move as it moves! Metal motor bearings and an operating headlight are standard, and the locos are DCC-Ready The models also feature a detailed underframe. All wheels are blackened and feature RP25 contours; the tender also features blackened wheels that provide additional electrical pickup. Each model comes complete with rust-colored EZ-Mate(R) couplers.
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. The locomotive is non-functional and being sold As-Is. A small number plaque is detached from the locomotive. The step platform on the rear end of the tender is bent. The cover piece for the locomotive's coal load is missing. The locomotive and tender show some scratches and spots of paint loss on the shell and chassis. This item has been inspected by our repair shop. Please see the attached picture for inspection details and additional operation information. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is included. Please check the photos for a detailed look at this item. Overall condition is Excellent.
