This is a Broadway Limited 12 HO Scale Norfolk & Western Paragon™ Series Steam 2-6-6-4 Powered with Sound & DCC - Limited-Run Class A #1218.First introduced in 1936, the Class A was a perfect balance of speed and power. Capable of moving 125 car freights at 35 to 40mph, they could hit 65 with time freights and brushed 70 on an occasional passenger run. All 43 were built in the companys own Roanoke, Virginia, shops. Engines #1210 to #1234 were built in 1943-44 and serve as the prototype for this model. Engine #1218 was the sole survivor and is fondly remembered for her days in fantrip service between 1987 to 1994. In 2001, the engine was donated to the city of Roanoke for eventual display at the Virginia Museum of Transportation. Models feature great Sound in both DC and DCC operations.
