This is a Kato 176-1109 N Scale Santa Fe Warbonnet EMD F3A Diesel Locomotive #19. The F-Unit is probably the most recognized diesel locomotive in North American history. It was found on railroads from East to West and North to South. Eastern railroads favored a Single Headlight version of the F3, while Western railroads favored a Dual Headlight version. In the late 40’s and early 50’s, the Santa Fe would typically use four F3 locomotives in ABBA configuration to pull named trains such as the “El Capitan” and “Super Chief” on their cross country journeys. Its key features are:

A-unit LED has directional headlights and illuminated number boards
Locomotives have a powerful five pole motor with all wheel electrical pickup and blackened wheels
KATO magnetic knuckle couplers
