This is a Lionel 201 0-6-0 Lionel Lines Steam Locomotive and Tender from 1940-42. This is one of the ‘Magic Electrol‘ engines with a DC relay that activates the reverse unit. The locomotive features a solenoid coupler, die-cast metal construction, a motor, a reverse unit, an operating headlight, a decorative bell, a smoke stack, metal side rods, metal wheels and exquisite detail. The tender features die-cast metal construction, tinplate trucks with journals, a solenoid coupler, metal wheels and axles.
Upon its introduction during the 19th century, the 0-6-0 would quickly become one of the most widely used models in many rail-yards due to its versatility becoming a favored unit over its 0-4-0 and 0-8-0 counterparts. With their ability to operate on both heavy and light railways, the 0-6-0 would become a staple in rail-yards all over the world!
This item has been graded per TCA standards (Restored/Repainted) R-4: Very Good based on visual appearance. The locomotive has gearing issues and tends to bind during operation. The engine is being sold As-Is. The decals on the tender have sections flaked off. The locomotive and tender show scratches and spots of paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. The locomotive and tender show rust throughout various sections of the chassis and trucks. This item has been inspected by our repair shop. Please see the attached picture for inspection details and additional operation information. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is not included.
