This is a Lionel 665 Vintage O 4-6-4 Steam Locomotive w/2046W Tender from 1954-66. Standard features include; 4-6-4 wheel arrangement with detailed driving wheel hardware, Magnetraction, three-position E-unit, headlight, smoke, wire handrails plus an ornamental bell and whistle. The trailing truck was always produced with plastic side frames. The tender features a whistle, die-cast trucks, and an operating knuckle coupler.
Known as the Baltic in Europe and the Hudson in North America, the 4-6-4 was introduced in the early 20th century finding success in hauling freight and as a shunting model. Their use would initially find great success on North American railways before eventually becoming mainstays in rail-yards around the world!
These items have been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good. These items show scratches, scrapes, dents, and spots of paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. These items show spots of rust on the axles and pins. The locomotive has white residue in the smoke stack, ill fitting rails, and chips in various areas of its shell. Both items run when tested but the tenders whistle makes a buzzing sound while blowing. The overall appearance of each item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning.
