Here is a Lionel 6672 Vintage O Santa Fe Reefer Car. The 6672 Santa Fe Refrigerator Car is the result of the Lionel designers taking the current non-operating refrigerator car from the 1953 product line -- the 6472 -- and updating its appearance to be more prototypical in both looks and size. Needless to say, the result is a near-scale model (1:48 scale) of its real-life counterpart and continued to support Lionel's effort to produce accurate and prototypical trains from that era. The 6672 Santa Fe refrigerator car included the following standard features: unpainted white sides and undercarriage, unpainted brown roof and ends, Santa Fe logo to the left of the door, bar-end trucks with operating couplers, unpainted brown functional sliding plug-doors with white lettering, single brake wheel plus a simulated control panel with sliding door on one side of the refrigerator car. The initial production run from early 1954 has three lines of blue data to the right of the door. This three line version is scarce. The lettering was soon reduced to only two lines of data and was printed with either blue or black lettering. This is the Blue Lettering - 2 Lines of Data version - The common version produced from 1954 through 1956.
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. There are scratches visible on the trucks of the car. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. This item has been out on display previously and its overall appearance could be significantly improved with a thorough dusting or a light wipe down. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is included. Please check the photos for a detailed look at this item. Overall condition is Very Good.
