This is a Lionel 682 6-8-6 Steam Turbine Locomotive from 1954-55. The 682 was the last of the Postwar Era Turbines and had a distinctive white stripe down the sides and a special siderod linkage. Features include a motor, a reverse unit, an operating headlight, an operating smoke unit, metal side rods, metal wheels and exquisite detail. A 2046W tender is included which features a plastic shell. Metal frame, whistle, operating knuckle coupler, die cast trucks, metal wheels and axles.
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. The tender appears to have been previously re-painted. The locomotive and tender show scratches and spots of paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. The locomotive and tender show rust throughout various sections of the chassis and trucks. The overall appearance of each item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. This item has been inspected by our repair shop. Please see the attached picture for inspection details and additional operation information. The original boxes are not included.
