Here is a Lionel 700E Vintage O Prewar 4-6-4 Hudson Steam Locomotive & Tender. This is the legendary 700E from 1937-42, one of the greatest model railroad locomotives ever built. This engine is a 1/4" to the foot scale model of the famous New York Central. J-1e class 4-6-4 Steam Locomotive. This was the first mass produced scale-sized locomotive and one of the first to use the die-casting method of construction. The engine features an enormous amount of detail. This engine will not run on traditional Lionel track; rather it runs on special T-Rail track Lionel produced at about the same time. This is a great chance to own one of the most legendary model railroad locomotives ever produced.
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. The tender and locomotive have both been re-painted. Brush strokes and small spots of paint overlap can be seen throughout the shells of both units. These items show scratches and spots of paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. These items show spots of rust on the chassis and trucks. The overall appearance of each item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is not included.
