LokSound V4.0 decoders operate on DC and AC and can switch automatically between all modes (AC, Motorola, DC, DCC, Selectrix) during operation. With DCC, Selectrix and Motorola protocols, each provides 14, 28 or 128 speed steps, along with 2-, 3- or 4-digit addressing and consisting. The decoders can also be used with the M?Ärklin control stations 6020, 6021, delta, mobile station and central station, with addresses 01 255. V4.0 Decoders also work with automatic braking systems, including the Lenz LG100 and ABC, Selectrix and M?Ärklin, and determine a constant braking distance, so that locos stop in front of a red signal no matter how fast theyre running. LokSound V4.0 comes with the improved 5th generation of load control so various motors will run better, while a 10 Bit A/D convertor makes it possible to run locos very slowly. And with adjustable Dynamic Drive Control (DDC), you can accurately set speed and performance curves to allow for ultra-slow switching, or slow engine realistically as they work upgrade. The constant current output of 1.1A is suitable for virtually any locomotive. One of the biggest changes in the V4.0 is the larger capacity sound chip, now with an enormous 32MBit memory that allows for over four-and a half minutes (276 seconds) of original sounds. Playback through polyphonic channels, a 16-Bit mixer and nearly noiseless D?A convertor allows up to eight different sounds to play simultaneously. Stronger and louder sounds - up to three times louder than before, are possible with the new class D amplifier, and 4 Ohm speaker. And all single sound levels can be adjusted using your DCC system. LokSound V4.0 decoders can be used on DC and AC layouts, providing all running-, sound- and light functions. Each LokSound V4.0 decoder has 4 function outputs with constant current of up to 250mA, that can be assigned to individual functions. An additional two non-amplified outputs with logic level.can be used with a fitting adapter PCBs (such as the ESU 51968) to control more light or special functions. All important light functions like Flash, Gyra-Light, Mars light, fire box flicker and so on can be added, each with adjustable brightness, and theres now a high-beam headlight headlight function, as well as LED mode that controls the correct lighting effect when LEDs are used. Automatic uncoupling units from Roco, Krois and Telex can also be operated from these decoders. For trouble-free operation, V4.0 Decoders can be connected to a PowerPac (#54670 sold separately), to keep power flowing as engines run over dirty track with lower voltage that would otherwise cause performance issues. A very important function of the LokSound V4.0 decoder is the integrated RailComPlus function. Your locos will be recognized automatically by the appropriate digital command station and will receive, if needed, a new address. Forget about cumbersome typing and programming! Of course, all function outputs and the motor current output are overload protected.
