This is a Marklin, Inc 441-37816 HO Scale Class 50 2-10-0 - 3-Rail w/Sound & Digital German State Railroad DRG (Era II, black, red) When August Borsig opened his machinery building and iron casting company in 1837, no one suspected he would become one of the largest locomotive builders in Europe. The pioneer locomotive builder of Europe built his first Borsig loco as early as 1941. In honor of the 175th anniversary of the firm Borsig, M?Ärklin is issuing a five-part special series of sought after H0 models which will end in 2016 on the 175th anniversary of steam locomotive building in Germany. First in the series is this class 50 steam engine in its original form with Wagner smoke deflectors, standard engineer's cab and a long running board that slants down at the front to the smoke box. The locomotive has an mfx digital decoder, controlled high-efficiency propulsion, extensive sound functions, 5 axles powered and traction tires. The loco and tender are constructed mostly of metal. Dual LED headlights change over with the direction of travel and will work in conventional or DCC operation. The close coupling between the locomotive and tender can be adjusted for track curves. A collector's display case with engraved metal builder number on the base and an excerpt from the Borsig delivery book are included.
