This is a MTH 20-3078-1 Union Pacific FEF 4-8-4 Locomotive & Tender #811 with PS2 from 2002. Features include a constant voltage headlight, a precision pittman flywheel equipped motor, engineer and fireman figures, an operating firebox glow, lighted cab interior, operating marker lights, an operating emergency light, an operating tender backup light and it is equipped with protosound 2.0 with digital command system featuring passenger station proto effects. First introduced in the early 20th century, the 4-8-4 to rail yards by storm primarily hauling coal and other forms of freight across state lines in the US and rail-ways in various other countries. While later models would improve on the 4-8-4's limitation, this locomotive still made its place in history as a pioneer of 20th century rail-road industry, and is featured in some museums today as a testament to how far the industry has truly come!
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. The PS2 board is not responding to DCS at all. Replacement boards were unavailable at time of repair. The speaker has been replaced so the engine has working sounds when running in conventional mode. There are light nicks and scratches on the surface of the shell and chassis. The wheels and rolling pickups show signs of average use. This item has been stored in a basement for a while by the previous owner and has a slight odor. This item has been serviced by our repair department. The original box is included. The instruction manual is included. Please check the photos for a detailed look at this item. Due to the date of manufacture, the buyer may need to replace the battery. Overall condition is Excellent.
