This is a 3rd Rail 235 Duluth Missabe & Iron Range 2-8-8-4 "Yellowstone" Steam Locomotive and Tender #235. The locomotive features brass construction with a motor, operating headlight, smoke unit, decorative bell, metal side rods and metal wheels. The tender features die-cast metal trucks, operating knuckle coupler, metal wheels and axles.
First released during the 20th century, the 2-8-8-4 models were a powerhouse division of locomotives and were some of the largest models ever introduced. These powerful models also known as the "Yellowstones" were built with larger fireboxes and longer cabs making them suitable for hauling tough freight like iron ore throughout the Northern railways in North America. Today only 3 remain in existence, and are all preserved in museums. Now you get to bring some history to your layout with this masterfully crafted and wonderfully designed brass HO replica!
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent. Small spots of paint loss, and the railings on the front platform are broken. This item is a part of the RBP Trains collection and was owned by Chris Raines himself! This is the engine that started it all between Chris and Trainz!. This is the VERY FIRST engine Trainz ever sent to RBP to do a video on. This engine has been upgraded to have ERR TMCC. This upgrade was done by none other than Sid of Sid's Trains himself.
