When repairing modern Lionel & Lionel licensed trains it is most convenient to have a stand alone test fixture that will allow you to verify the operation of the Lionel circuit boards. This test confirms that the Radio, Audio & Power boards are operating as designed. Once you confirm the Lionel circuit boards operate properly you can more effectively track down the problem without guesswork.
This test fixture effectively tests all Lionel R2LC Radio boards as well as R4LC Legacy Radio Boards. It verifies the radio board is receiving a clear command signal and confirms that the on-board +5VDC is functional. It also confirms forward & reverse PWM (required to control the motor driver) is working properly. It tests the front & rear directional lamp outputs, the smoke output (including smoke boost) and the front and rear electro-couplers. When used in conjunction with a Railsounds audio & power board it confirms the serial data from the radio board is functioning properly.
This test fixture is also capable of testing Railsounds 4, 4E, 5, 5.5 & 6.0 in conjunction with either Railsounds Power Board 691PCB104D or 691RSPRA00.
This test fixture will allow customers to test the following Lionel modular boards;

Railsounds 4, 4E, 5, 5.5 & 6.0
