Highly detailed 1/700 scale assembly model kit of the World War II era German cruiser Admiral Hipper, the lead ship of her class of heavy cruisers in service with the Kriegsmarine (War Navy). Built by the Blohm + Voss shipbuilding company and commissioned on 25 April 1939, the cruiser Admiral Hipper was the first of four Admiral Hipper-class heavy cruisers built by Germany during the Second World War. She took part in the German invasion of Norway on 8 April 1940, and thereafter served off Norway in conjunction with other German surface warships in missions to disrupt British convoys crossing the Atlantic. The Admiral Hipper was damaged in battle in 1942 and was decommissioned until 1945 when she was used, partly repaired, to evacuate refugees and troops from East Prussia, and the Polish Corridor across the Baltic in Operation Hannibal as the Red Army advanced.
