When 4-4-0s worked this line, this building was the busiest place on the branch. Every morning, locos were wheeled out, polished and oiled before starting the day's work. Once the shop floor was clear, wooden freight or passenger cars were led in by the switcher. Sometimes a loco would be there needing some attention. Then, the carpenter and blacksmith took over, the ringing of their tools drifting out through the big wooden doors.
