The same applies to the rest of the British Isles of course, but this model, complete with cart entrance is a classic example of the type found in both the countryside and leafy suburbs of England.

The Craftsman series of kits from Wills offers the more experienced modeller a cost effective way to make large, highly individual models. They cover a range of typically British buildings both railway and domestic and each kit contains plastic moulded sheets, detailed parts, illustrated instructions and templates.
The use of sheet materials rather than moulded parts allows you the opportunity to easily modify the design to suit your needs. Should you decide you want your model to have a tiled roof rather than a slate one, then you can easily add the appropriate materials sheets in place of those which came with the kit. Similarly it would be quite an easy matter to modify the overall design by adding (or leaving out) doors and windows or moving their position. In other words you have the capability with these kits to tailor your buildings to your own personal design.
Constructing a Craftsman model is certainly not as easy as putting a Wills Scenic Series kit together for you need to the ability to cut cleanly 1.5mm plastic sheet, but the end result of a finished building unique to your layout can be very rewarding.
