Here is a Lionel 6-11711 O Gauge Santa Fe F-3 AA Diesel Locomotive Set #8100 & 8102. These locomotives led the Santa Fe Super Chief Set from that year, considered by many one of the most handsome Lionel sets of all time. Features include for both A-Units, operating headlights, illuminated number boards, metal chassis and ladders, portholes, screened vents, front operating knuckle couplers, powdered metal wheels, and die-cast metal trucks. The powered A-Unit includes dual pullmor motors, eight wheel drive, Magne-Traction®, and transformer controlled forward-neutral-reverse operation. The dummy A-Unit includes Diesel RailSounds™, and volume control. This set does not include the matching B unit however; an MPC-era Santa Fe F3 non-powered diesel is included in it's place. This model has die cast trucks and an illuminating headlamp.
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. #8100 has a broken grab-iron piece on the nose of the shell. The non-powered third locomotive shows corossion on the trucks. The third non-powered locomotive also has a loose shell on the chassis. Each locomotive show scratches and spots of paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is included.
