Here is a Lionel 6-21787 O Gauge CNJ Blue Comet 4-6-2 Steam Passenger Train Set. This is a scale length replica of CNJ‘s famous daytime passenger express that ran from Jersey City to Atlantic City from 1929 to 1941. The set consists of a CNJ G-3 Pacific (Road number 831), a (39074) Barnard Baggage Car, a (39075) Westphal Coach Car, a (39076) Faye Coach car, and a (39076) Tempel Observation Car. The engine features Railsounds, TMCC, smoke, electrocoupler, lights, detailed cab, all metal construction, and great detail. The cars feature interior illumination, detailed interiors, die cast trucks, and operating couplers.
Introduced in its prototype form in the late 19th century, the 4-6-2 would take the world by storm at the turn of the 20th century, being seen as one of the biggest innovation in the history of locomotives -- the 4-6-2 would quickly finds its place in rail-yards across the world. Heralded for its ability to haul passengers, the 4-6-2 was a versatile model hauling freight and coal as well, with tank variants being introduced later during the 20th century. Traveling at speeds upwards of 100mph the 4-6-2was featured on rail-ways ranging from Argentina to Egypt, and all the way to the far East in China!
