This is a Lionel 6-51236 O Scale BRASS Smithsonian NYC City of Toledo Pullman Car from 1993. This museum quality model is part of a very limited un-cataloged 26-car set that was done in conjunction with the Smithsonian in 1993. This model is 2-rail O-Scale and will not run on traditional Lionel 3-rail track. It is 21 inches long. This highly detailed passenger car is precisely 1:48 scale and was made of brass in Korea under the design and supervision of Fine Art Models in the U.S., who normally specialize in larger scale, very high end, scale railroad models. This car features superior craftsmanship, super scale detailing, an illuminated 20-bulb interior, a furnished interior, die-cast trucks with scale couplers. The couplers that are mounted are scale couplers for static display. Kadee couplers are included to make it operational if desired. This car is one of 26 different cars produced under the Lionel/Smithsonian offering in 1993. The cars only produced 500 of each car and they sold for $500 each. They had to hold a lottery of all the interested buyers to determine who would actually get the opportunity to purchase them.
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent. This item shows some light scratches and spots of paint loss on the shell and chassis. This item is in overall excellent condition, free of broken trim pieces. This item has been inspected by our repair shop. Please see the attached picture for inspection details and additional operation information. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is included.
