Here is a Marklin 3047 HO BR 44 Heavy Goods 2-10-0 Steam Locomotive & Tender #44690. This locomotive features a powerful motor, operating lights, realistically detailed, metal side rods, metal wheels and axles. This engine only runs on Markln's 3-rail track.
Introduced in the late 19th century, the 2-10-0 was first unveiled in North America for the Lehigh Valley Railroad on the East Coast. The 2-10-0 notation would catch on quickly, and would soon before commissioned in rail-yards all over the world for their versatility, and powered axels making them a powerful locomotive despite drawbacks with the firebox and running at low speeds. These models would run well into the mid-20th century before eventually making their way from a running status to a preservation state. Today a handful of these “Decapods” can be found in museums!
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. This item tested functional however there was significant wobbling. There are light nicks and scratches on the surface of the shell and chassis. This item has been out on display previously and its overall appearance could be significantly improved with a thorough dusting or a light wipe down. Overall condition is Excellent.
